The Art of Applying Perfume Like a Pro

Finding a signature fragrance you love is no small task; with countless options, it’s a triumph when you finally find "the one." But wearing it well is an art in itself. Here’s how to make sure you’re applying your perfume for maximum effect:

A Few Key Tips

Choose Mildly Scented Hair and Body Products: Look for shampoos and body washes with minimal scent or a fragrance that fades quickly. Better yet, go for products from the same line as your perfume to keep scents aligned.

– Apply Right After Your Shower: The best time to spritz is post-shower, while your skin is still slightly damp. This helps lock in the fragrance and keeps it lasting longer.

Test Directly on Skin: When trying a new perfume, skip the tester strips and apply it to your skin instead. Since your nose can only distinguish about three scents before becoming overwhelmed, reset with a sniff of coffee beans in between tests.

– Store Perfume Properly: Fragrances can break down if exposed to heat and light. For the best longevity, store your perfume in a cool, dry spot or even the fridge if possible.

Go Easy on the Spritz: A light touch goes a long way; overpowering a room is rarely a good look. Aim for a moderate amount - just enough to leave a pleasant trail.

The Right Way to Apply Perfume

Hit the Pulse Points: Spritz twice on your wrists, then dab onto both sides of your neck. Pulse points are warmer and help the scent to disperse naturally.

Create a Perfume Mist: For a light and even distribution, spray the fragrance into the air and step into it. This technique adds a subtle touch of fragrance all over your body. Best done after a shower and while still nude for even coverage. 😄

Avoid Direct Spraying on Clothes or Skin: Spraying too close can create an intense, sometimes unpleasant effect. Keep a distance of about 20 cm between the nozzle and your skin for the perfect spritz.
