Keeping up with fashion trends? Shirts and ties aren't just for suits anymore. You can rock a sophisticated yet youthful look by pairing them with different jacket styles.

Personally, I rarely wear suits unless it's absolutely necessary – even for formal events. That's why I love these fresh combos!

The key for all these jackets? Keep it simple with minimal details, and you'll see how well they complement shirts and ties.

Bomber Jacket

In late 2015, bomber jackets became a huge hit for guys into casual, street-style fashion. For a shirt and tie look, go for a cotton bomber in charcoal, navy, or black. Avoid busy prints, logos, or nylon materials.

Match the zipper and button colors to the fabric. Keep the collar and cuffs clean - the focus should be on your collared shirt and tie. Leather bombers also work great!

A leather bomber jacket is also a great suggestion!

You don't need to zip it all the way up like usual either. Leave it open at the top to show off your tie, or keep it unzipped for a relaxed vibe.

Collared Jacket

Similar rules apply for this classic style. Keep details minimal and avoid flashy, intricate designs. Treat it like a new type of suit jacket!

Long Coat (Mac)

This sleek, modest coat has long been loved by office workers. A smooth, long coat in gray, blue, or dark brown with slim pants, a light blue shirt, and maybe brogues is a winning combo.

Channel an English gent by accessorizing thoughtfully, like draping a plain wool scarf around your neck.

Denim Jacket

The versatility of a basic denim jacket can't be beat, especially if you love smart-casual style as much as I do.

A well-fitted denim jacket in black, light, or dark blue creates an unexpectedly sharp look with a shirt and tie.

For a more formal vibe, choose plain or minimally distressed jackets.

Biker Leather Jacket

As I've written before, biker leather jackets are incredibly versatile. The folded collar detail makes them perfect for pairing with shirts and ties since it resembles suit lapels.

Use this feature to style your outfits confidently. A crisp white shirt, slim black tie, dark trousers, and polished Chelsea boots? Definitely worth trying with this leather jacket!
