The world of watches is a diverse realm, from the imposing designs of luxury brands like Hublot and Audemars Piguet to the sleek simplicity of more understated models. Whether you're on a budget or looking for something stylish, options abound. Today, I want to introduce you to a standout newcomer from Australia: the Archibald by Huckleberry & Co.
This watch is currently gaining traction on Kickstarter, the crowdfunding platform where innovative ideas come to life. With just days left in their funding campaign, Huckleberry & Co is gearing up for production, with an official launch slated for the end of April next year.
I recently had the opportunity to explore the Archibald thanks to Ricky Fung, the founder of Huckleberry & Co. The moment I saw the Archibald on Kickstarter, I was captivated. It didn’t take long for me to share the link with friends, who were equally impressed by its aesthetic appeal.

What Makes the Archibald Stand Out?
Named after an anti-aircraft cannon, the Archibald represents boldness in crafting a high-quality, affordable watch. Ricky Fung explained, "This name symbolizes the audacity required to produce a watch of this caliber at a reasonable price."
Here’s what you need to know about the Archibald:
Movement: It houses the Japanese Miyota 9132 automatic movement, renowned for its durability and precision, standing up to the famed Swiss ETA movements.
Price: Expected to retail around $400, it’s competitively priced against some high-end quartz watches.
Design: With a 40mm diameter and a thickness of about 11.5mm, the Archibald offers a minimalist design available in two case colors: silver steel and rose gold. The watch face colors are pure white for the silver case and champagne gold for the rose gold case.
Features: A notable feature is the power reserve indicator at the 12 o'clock position, a luxury detail often reserved for more expensive timepieces.
Once production is underway, Huckleberry & Co will be providing The Undercut with a review unit, so stay tuned for a comprehensive look at this impressive watch. In the meantime, enjoy the stunning visuals of the Archibald - it's truly a sight to behold.
