Leonardo DiCaprio Isn't the Only One with Oscar Bad Luck

As the highly anticipated 88th Academy Awards draw near, all eyes are once again on Leonardo DiCaprio. Despite his numerous acclaimed performances, the Oscars have always seemed just out of Leo’s reach. Back in 2014, his brilliant portrayal in The Wolf of Wall Street wasn’t enough, as he watched Matthew McConaughey take home the golden statue. Now, with his grueling and raw performance in The Revenant, will this finally be Leo’s year to break the curse?

To either raise Leo’s spirits or prepare for yet another near miss, Yahoo News compiled a list of other Hollywood talents who, like Leo, haven’t been lucky at the Oscars. These actors and directors have delivered legendary performances and crafted iconic films but still find themselves waiting for their Oscar moment. Here are some of the other "Oscar-unlucky" names:

Leonardo DiCaprio

At 41, Leo has been in the Oscar race for nearly two decades, starting with his first nomination at just 22 for What’s Eating Gilbert Grape. This year marks his sixth nomination, and the whole world is rooting for him.
